Black Tusk GmbH was founded with the aim of establishing a new cloud platform for the competitive sports, as well as the wellness and lifestyle sector.

2011

Launch ProSports

With ProSports we launched one of the first cloud-based applications for endurance sports, offering targeted individual remote support for professional and competitive athletes. The customer segment of ProSports ranged from motorsports to athletics and cycling. In this context, a close and long-standing cooperation with the mountain bike racing team ToMotion Racing was established, which has supported Black Tusk as its main sponsor for years.

2015

Alignment with Healthcare

The focus of ProSports was the communication between athlete and coach, as well as the organization or structuring of high-density data points (movement data, physiological, and clinical data) in a central storage solution - Black Tusk Enterprise. With these core capabilities in the backhand, further development towards eHealth and patient-physician communication took place in 2015.

2015

Launch and further Development of Black Tusk Enterprise & Schema Editor - BT Cloud Toolbox

As part of this transition, the core of Back Tusk Enterprise was adapted to support the new application area, a cloud-based storage solution for health-related, as well as medical data. Initially with proprietary but semantically comprehensible data schemas, we were able to set the strategic course towards interoperability of data and systems.

2017

Agile Software Development and Medical Device Regulation

In 2017 Black Tusk GmbH introduced agile methods in the development process. Black Tusk GmbH has increasingly focused on standard-compliant software development, especially on quality management systems compliant to ISO 13485. Since then, several eHealth projects were implemented with our QM partners. Quality management, interoperability with HL7 FHIR, comprehensive quality assurance and test automation, and the most important point: patient-centeredness, always accompany us as pillars of the company.

2019

Launch ConnectIQ Apps

SmartWake was the first ConnectIQ app to be published in the Garmin Store. In the meantime, the portfolio has grown to contain various apps. Many of our algorithms and filters from our scientific HRV module are now used in consumer apps for Garmin wearables.

implays

The relaunch of ProSports took place under the name implays as a web application with a completely new look and feel. In addition to its orientation as a comprehensive monitoring tool for the visualization of performance data, especially the balance of stress and recovery, we were able to add another important tool for the determination of physiological stress parameters with the daily heart rate variability (HRV). With our proprietary algorithms, filters and validated assessment methods, the customer segment was expanded to include the area of active recovery management for lifestyle and wellness.

Launch of iOS App 'MyHealthDiary'

The MyHD app is an application that allows users to quickly and securely record and manage health data such as blood pressure, pulse, blood glucose, weight and body temperature. The app allows users to switch between a daily schedule and a 3-day schedule, which provides an overview of all upcoming and recent readings. Furthermore, an integrated export is available to help share the entries with treating physicians and thus offers an ideal documentation companion.
